The Woodlands High School is very lucky to have a wonderful staff of Visual Arts Educators.  Their experience teaching the visual arts and passion for their students growth and success set them apart as being one of the best

teaching teams in Texas.

Ms. Kelsa Dykehouse

Ceramics/Sculpture, AP Art & Design 3D & AP Art History Teacher

     Ms. Dykehouse teaches all of the Ceramic/Sculpture classes at TWHS main campus including Ceramics/Sculpture II, III, IV and AP Art & Design 3D.  In addition she teaches several AP Art History classes.  She has been part of the visual arts department at The Woodlands High School since the fall of 2021.  She also is a co-advisor of TWHS National Arts Honor Society/Art Club and is one of the assistant coaches for The Woodlands Lady Highlander Soccer Team.

 

     Ms.Dykehouse has a BS in Art Education with a concentration in Ceramics from Northern Michigan University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude and was selected by the Art & Design faculty as the department's 2018 Outstanding Graduating Senior.  

 

     Outside of school Ms. Dykehouse has a large amount of experience working with both children and the arts.  She has been a camp counselor, camp arts and crafts area director, a museum art intern and has attended a professional artist residency.  She has had artwork shown in several shows and also has a background coaching and refereeing soccer.  In her free time, Ms. Dykehouse likes to spend time outdoors, camping, running, and practicing photography. 

Mr. Daryl Gannon

Art I &

AP Art History Teacher

     Daryl Gannon teaches Art I and AP Art History at The Woodlands High School main campus since 2022. After receiving a BA Fine Art Painting at Chelsea College of Art he moved to the United States and began teaching Art in 2011. Before joining TWHS, Mr. Gannon taught at Lanier Middle School in Houston as well as Mitchell Intermediate in The Woodlands.

 

     When not in the classroom, Daryl continues to paint and enjoys spending time traveling with his family and playing soccer.

Mrs. Tori Hill

Art I, Art Appreciation

& Digital Arts Teacher

     Mrs.Hill teaches Art I, Art Appreciation and Digital Art & Media II, III & IV. She started at TWHS in 2022, but has been teaching high school art since 2015. 

 

     Mrs.Hill has a BA. in Fine Arts with an emphasis in Photography and a minor in Media and Communications from Texas Tech University. She also studied abroad for a semester in Paris, France where she took several courses including: Art History, Photography, Painting and French Cinema. For 3 years Mrs.Hill was a photojournalist for the city newspaper in Lubbock, Texas. Her photographs have been published in The New York Times, Houston Chronicle, Dallas Morning News and the Washington Post to name a few. 

 

     Outside of school Mrs.Hill does portrait photography, enjoys spending time outside and hanging out with friends and family.

Mr. Hunter McLeod

Drawing/Painting &

AP Art & Design 2D Teacher

     I’m Hunter McLeod. I received a Bachelor of fine arts in Studio arts with a specialty in Drawing/Print-Making and sculpture along with a minor in Art history from Sam Houston State in 2013.  I have been a professional art educator since 2014, and have had the pleasure of teaching at TWHS since 2019.  

 

     In addition to my pursuits in art, I have been a professional cook, photographer, magazine contributor, hotrod builder, and carpenter.

 

     Most recently, my personal artworks have revolved around illustrative tattoo design and text work.
